Renowned Actor Pat Finn, a versatile actor, Famed For Appearances in Friends and The Middle, Has Died at 60 Years Old.

Stateside performer Finn, who was seen in beloved programs including "Friends", Seinfeld and The Middle, has succumbed aged 60.

The comedy and improvisation performer died at home in Los Angeles on Monday after undergoing treatment for cancer from 2022 onward, as reported by news outlets.

"Pat Finn saw everyone as a friend - only friends he didn't know yet," his relatives stated in a announcement.

They noted that he had "experienced life to the fullest - with zest and passion".

A Notable TV Career

His initial on-screen part was in the George Wendt Show in the mid-90s, where he appeared as the titular character's brother.

He also had a regular part on "Murphy Brown" from 1995 to 1997.

He played the part of a party host named Joe Mayo in Seinfeld in 1998, portraying a social organizer known to delegate tedious tasks to his guests.

Throughout the end of the 90s and start of the 2000s, he made guest appearances on several hit series, including:

  • The King of Queens
  • "Friends"
  • That '70s Show
  • House, M.D.

He was most recognized for playing Bill Norwood in "The Middle", appearing throughout eight seasons of the show from 2011 to 2018.

His cinematic roles are It's Complicated (2009) and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups.

Off-Screen Life

Outside of his on-screen roles, Finn was deeply involved in improvisational comedy and worked as a teacher at the University of Colorado, where he was an adjunct professor.

He was a member of a six-member improv team named Beer Shark Mice.

"Pat taught, supported, and inspired many learners throughout the years and it's nearly impossible to find anyone anywhere who has anything negative to say about him," his loved ones expressed.

Paying homage, colleague and actor actor Richard Kind remarked there was "nobody more kind, gentle, and humorous, authentic human being you could encounter".

"Always positive, helping you be funnier and better. A wonderful father and man," he shared online.

The actor is survived by his spouse Donna, his three kids, and his parents and siblings.
