Pep Guardiola has admitted feeling "shame" following a confrontation with a camera operator subsequent to Manchester City's 2-1 defeat at Newcastle on Saturday.

When the match concluded, a visibly upset Guardiola stepped onto the field and had heated discussions with match official Sam Barrott and Newcastle’s Bruno Guimarães, and also touched the headphones of the camera operator.

"I apologised," the manager remarked. "I feel embarrassed, ashamed, looking back. I don’t like it. I apologised after one second to the cameraman. I am who I am. With a thousand matches under my belt I’m not a perfect person, errors happen."

Guardiola would not be concerned if an opposition manager spoke to his players right after the final whistle.
