Liverpool's Star Issues Regret to Squad, Says Curtis Jones
Jones has shared that Salah expressed regret to the group of players in the wake of the uproar from his televised remarks.
The Incident
The striker was dropped from a European match subsequent to voicing frustrations and claiming his rapport with Arne Slot had soured.
“Mo is his own man and he can say his own stuff,” the midfielder said. “He apologised to us and was like: ‘If I’ve affected anybody, please accept my apology.’”
The manager has previously declined to reveal on whether he got an explanation from the 33-year-old forward.
Looking Ahead
Jones insisted that the dressing room atmosphere was unchanged. “He was his usual self, he was smiling and everybody was exactly the same with him,” he continued.
The midfielder also suggested that a competitor wanting to play is less of an issue. “I understand there are different methods you can handle situations,” he said. “But if a lad’s fine to just not start, then I think that’s more of an issue.”
Team Form
The team's performance have remained strong in the matches since the initial controversy. The player is convinced the outburst were not designed to cause disruption.
“If passion has boiled over, it has consistently come from a place of caring,” Jones concluded. “It's behind us and we’re uniting strongly, playing well and starting to win games.”
